Find the root.Change the results.

I learned where results come from by working inside them.

The problem you see is not always the problem driving the results. I help leaders find what is really driving the behavior, then change it, so the results follow.

How I think

What you see is only the surface.

Leaders usually meet the symptom: the missed target, the resignation, the training that didn’t stick, the change initiative that stalled. But the behavior producing it often sits deeper. That is where I start.

The three levels The brand mark annotated: results above the surface, daily behavior at the surface line, and the root of assumptions, incentives and norms beneath. RESULTS What people measure BEHAVIOR What people do every day ROOT Assumptions. Incentives. Norms. Change the root, and the results can change with it.

What if the problem isn’t where you think it is?

About me

I started on the inside.

Before I advised leaders, I worked inside the organizations, systems, and pressures they now face. That is why I start with what people actually do, not what organizations say should happen.

“I tell leaders what I see, then help them change it.”
Direct. Warm. Practical. That is how clients describe working with me.

  4. 2000 – TodayBehavioral StrategyWhat I practiced became how I work

Across 25+ years, I kept returning to one question: what is really driving the behavior behind the result? That question became my practice, strengthened by PhD research. Today, leaders and organizations bring me in to find the root and change the results.

What leadership saw
Managers weren’t on the same page, HR operations weren’t fully established, and operational practices weren’t clearly defined. Leadership believed the managers were underperforming and people were resisting change, and asked for an assessment.
What sat beneath
Interviews and on-the-ground observation, from the CEO to the front line, told a different story. My assessment report pinpointed the pressure points. Roles, authority and decision rights were blurred, and many overlapped. No clear direction set the priorities. HR rested on informal practices, with no formal policies and no dedicated HR function to run them. People didn’t know who decided what, or which rules really counted. And it started at the top: the senior team itself wasn’t aligned and had no unified direction.
What I did
Working with the CEO, the senior team and HR staff, I led the senior team to a shared direction they all bought into, defined roles and responsibilities around it, and built the HR function and its operations from scratch, across the holding company and its subsidiaries. The whole engagement, assessment included, took about three months.
What became different
Decisions came faster, operational conflicts dropped, and financial resources and hiring costs came under tighter control. The owner and the CEO saw a long-running dilemma settled.

By the end of the engagement, the senior team was working with the CEO toward one goal.

What the business saw
A business head came to the bank’s L&D team with a concern: five young, newly promoted leaders weren’t managing their teams effectively. He believed that, as technical specialists, they lacked leadership skills, and asked for a leadership skills course.
What sat beneath
Interviews with the five leaders told a different story. Their expertise wasn’t the problem; it was the reason they had been promoted. The problem was how they saw their teams: as technical objectives to deliver rather than as people to lead. Their communication followed from that. They told their people what to do without explaining why, often in technical terms their people didn’t share. They steered around difficult conversations, and their feedback was either missing or landed as criticism rather than as support for growth.
What I did
So instead of a general leadership course, I designed a two-day leadership communication program built on the shift from managing tasks to leading people. It focused on explaining the why and the what, speaking in plain, warm and professional language, holding difficult conversations with a clear developmental purpose, and both giving and receiving feedback for growth. Assignments after the program carried the practice back to the job, and the business head took part in the follow-up.
What became different
The business head reported a clear, observable change over time. The new leaders gave the reasons behind their instructions, spoke in language their teams understood, and held difficult conversations to develop their people instead of avoiding them. Feedback began to flow both ways: they gave it regularly and welcomed it themselves. He also reported stronger team performance and fewer issues escalated to him.

He then extended the program to other managers.
